trouble in the gap
Aug. 30th, 2011 10:35 pmI've been having a lot of trouble getting back into meditating ever since my surgery. One, I have been trying another 21 day guided meditation challenge by the Chopra centre to ease back into this and I'm sitting at the computer listening. That's not my best idea.
But the real problem is pain lives in the gap. One my monkey mind is quieted then there is only one thing to concentrate on: the post-op/rehab pain. It's hard to get into a meditative state when it feels like a rabid animal is chewing through a joint. I did better today until I accidentally fell asleep sitting up. oops. At least I was ignoring the pain...
The Darkest Midnight in December is in the in-box for DSP for the advent calendar open call. I have my usual mixed feelings.I DO really like the novella but I doubt it's going to be Christmasy enough. If that's the case, I still hope they like it enough to take it on as a stand alone novella.
I am going to work on the vacation story I have left for this year's last open call. I went and looked at next years and while they are a really neat bunch I'm not sure I'm really bunnied by any of them. That could change but several are contemporary settings and/or no paranormals which takes me out of half of them.
I'm not really upset. That just kills the distractions away from the novel.
