100 things - story ideas

Sometimes story ideas come hard and fast. This week is one of those weeks. I had a good story idea for Christmas while i was driving back to my house from my parents. Basic idea, the guy works with search and rescue as a vocation (actual job? park ranger? dunno yet) with his dog. It's the holidays and instead of getting to spend it at home he gets called out. Where are we? Dunno but I'm thinking Colorado. It will of course have a happy ending and he gets to spend the holidays with his man and his family.

Then I was awoken this morning too early with an idea. I have no doubt it's from reading too much of Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series and Blue Exorcist but it could be a lot of fun to play with. Picture a college for demon hunters (different than the demon hunters I have in my series with Caleb, Temple & Agni), young men and women (I'm thinking they're about 20), a new transfer in meets the pet half-demon the school is training up as a fighter. Needless to say he's pretty friendless and likes it that way or so he pretends. New guy isn't happy with that, figuring that without human connections how is the halfling going to want to help humans as opposed to, say eating them?

I know that the half demon's mom was a 'sacrifice' by the cult her parents were in, offered up to the Morningstar when she was twelve and had no choice in whether or not she'd carry the child. She had help from the order that the college trains for in raising her son. He actually is a decent enough guy, lonely except for the teacher who helped raised him. He desperately wants to be friends with the other students.

I know new guy and demon boy end up hooked up. I know there is a girl in the mix (friendship as opposed to sexually). I do know what happens when new guy's demon hunting dad shows up and finds out. I do not know, however, if demon boy survives.

They are picking at my brain, NAME ME. It's like can't you wait your turn? And will you peter out instantly like the lesbian fantasy piece did?

That also kinda sounds like HellBoy, in some ways. It could be a very interesting story, though.

Oh yeah, definitely like Hellboy too.

Though demon boy would be better looking with two forms, human and demonic as opposed to Hellboy's demon only appearance.

I'm looking at Neil Gaiman's genteel version of Lucifer Morningstar for inspiration for daddy damndest.
