It came over on the publisher in questions author list that for some of the anthology stuff they will not be accepting sequels/tie-ins. I'm guessing this late in the game decision (for the advent calendar) came after getting more than one story like mine which is a tie in.

Well that makes me feel a little better. I'm waiting on clarification on the submission page. I still need to look up the contract (it was a long day) so that may well have been the reason for the rejection. Gives me a little hope (and a vague feeling of uh oh I might be a reason for a new rule. oops. Okay I know it would hardly be me alone but you know that niggling loss of self confidence)

This also means that yes, I'll probably be rejected for the Halloween project too since that is a daily story project and my short story there was also a tie in.

Time to just forget it for now, concentrate on a) the vacation story b) the novel
