what is my dharma
Sep. 2nd, 2011 09:26 pmI can think of several answers to this (and in the last three weeks, it's to not meditate well. sheesh) but the answer that fits this blog best is that my purpose is to entertain people with my words.
I've been writing almost all my life. I enjoy it. I whine a lot about it too but that is besides the point. I can't even think of not writing. A short break here or there to let the brain recharge but we're talking a couple days at most.
I do write things beyond erotica but that is a topic for another blog entirely. I AM however thinking I need to look at the erotica markets and see who else I can find. Not that I don't love working with Dreamspinner and circlet but DSP in particular is looking for romances.
Watching the author list there got me thinking, others are wondering about markets for their non-romance erotica and that is actually harder to find or I'm not looking in the right places (and if you know of the right places, by all means share). I'm not a huge romance fan. I don't hate it but I DO feel it's not my strongest point. In fact, I'm pretty sure the last two stories I sent in will be rejected on that basis.
I'm much rather write full on urban fantasy or mystery that has a lot of erotica scenes but I'm just not sure where the market is for that. Sigh. It's time to get off my lazy butt and search.
