how to be devestated in one simple move

Spend three hours working on a story you have a tight deadline for and the have the flash drive you were saving it to suddenly say it needs formatting. Everything is gone. THree hours, two scenes and a couple thousand words just gone. I can't use the online drop boxes as there is no wireless access so...

I have no idea how to retrieve if it IS in temp file form and the flash just brings up the please format me message.

I think I'll sit here and cry awhile and contemplate how much this summer has sucked
