It was really tough to decide what to pick for this week. I wanted to continue with right after Aneurin and Kaleo were shot at from my WIP Behind Blue Eyes but everything was considerably longer than six sentences in order to make sense (the search did help clean up a few passages Nano-induced slop). I settled on this (which is probaby still 7 sentences). They're home and Kaleo knows Aneurin is shaken up but is trying to hide it. He confronts him in the recreation/TV family room if you will. Oh and Smoke is Aneurin's pet, sort of a saber-tooth Lynx. I might be a tad slow to respond this week (and maybe all month between all the grading/test crafting of the last month of the semester coupled with Camp Nano where I'll be working on Aneurin and Kaleo's story.

Kaleo got into Aneurin’s line of view and asked, “Want company?”

“You can stay if you’d like,” Aneurin’s reply lacked so much enthusiasm Kaleo reconsidered just going to his room.

He knew the invitation wasn’t really to join Aneurin on the lounger but he did it anyhow. The man had comforted him at the recess meeting, even though it had to embarrass Aneurin greatly. Kaleo had been surprised at how good it felt to curl up with his tall master.

Smoke got somehow longer, hooking her head over his knee, her saber-like fangs sliding along the curve of his leg. Kaleo scratched her between the eyes. Aneurin arched his eyebrows.

“Want me to move?”

Actually since Kaleo has Asian/Polynesian genes to mix with his alien ones, he could look a little like this and he definitely is into free running/parkour (or whatever I'll call it in the far future). Aneurin will probably have a heart attack the first time he sees it. Instead of a bouncing dog, I suppose he could run with that saber toothed cat-thing Aneurin keeps.

If you'd like to play along, Rainbow Snippets is a Facebook community where we post up 6 sentences of one of our LGBT stories every Saturday. It's been fun and you can find it here. Be sure to check out all the offers! It's been a great supportive group!

LOL, that last line! As a "parent" of 2 furry kids, I can relate. :)

Love the snippet. Smoke seems to like Kaleo -- love Aneurin's comment.

I'm also doing Camp (finishing book 6 of a 12 book series -- it's being written out of order so this is the last one I need to write to complete the series). Goal: 50k -- plust 30 poems in 30 days for NaPoWriMo. And a 300 word entry for a Flash Fiction contest with a May 1st deadline. Why do we do this to ourselves?

Smoke does like him

Wow you're even more of a masochist than I am! And yes that's my official explanation of why we do this to ourselves.

Hahahaha...I'll bet the answer to that last question is "no." :-)

And LOL @ "Nano induced slop." I'm doing my first nano this month and I've halved my original goal. Speed writing and I are just not cut out for each other.

You'd win that bet.

haha, I CAN do 50K in a month if I try but every year gets harder (as the internet addiction grows) but for the camps I set a very modest goal of 10K
