Some of the critiques from my first readers are rolling in and I'm sobbing in the corner. (well not really but you know what I mean). I love writing. Editing is another beast entirely. It needs doing but by god, it's a painful tedious process.

I've never found a way to make this fun.

that can make you feel MORE like a horrible writer than getting your edits back? Even if it's minor stuff like comma placement, you stare at the marks going 'wow I suck.'

Okay sometimes you feel bad when you start at naming books for an hour and still have nothing you like or you gave up for 5 rounds of bejeweled blitz or something but I can usually get on track.

I get the edits and it's like waaaah I suck. I don't. And usually the edits aren't horrible. I do them. the work is better. I am happy but still, that initial time period just after the edits are opened is harsh.
