It's that time again. If nothing else I've been editing Blood Red Roulette trying to get it ready to shop around and I stumbled over this week's snippet (and after I thought I would move on to something different this week). I thought maybe I should share their first kiss.

I did cheat a little bit here. It's like two sentences longer than the prescribed six because the aftermath is probably even more important than the actual kiss. For clarification, they're standing outside the Paris casino in Vegas after Arrigo stumbled across Luc and his brother in a restaurant. Henri (the brother) and his friends were tormenting Luc and he left. Arrigo has caught back up with him later away from prying eyes.


With the blue and yellow lights of Paris’s hot air balloon bright behind him, Luc looked so vulnerable, Arrigo couldn’t help himself. He leaned in, brushing his lips against Luc’s. When Luc didn’t withdraw, Arrigo deepened the kiss. He slipped his arms around Luc, pulling him close as Arrigo’s tongue pushed into the man’s mouth. Luc moaned into Arrigo’s kiss as his muscular body moved against Arrigo’s. Arrigo felt his blood flooding downward, not wanting to let go when Luc pushed back. Fighting the urge to hold on, to take the blood and sex he wanted, Arrigo released him.

“Been wanting to do that since I first saw you,” Luc panted.

“The feeling’s mutual.”

“I can’t…I’m not ready for this. I don’t…” Luc shook his head, his desire and the conflict it caused evident on his face.


And here's a 'cover' I mocked up for Camp Nano when I was working on this one. It just so happens to be about where the guys are standing.

Oh, I'm glad you over-ran by a couple of sentences. Very hot kiss. I hope Luc gets over his fears.

Aww, I think that's a good kiss scene.

I liked your posting your cover mockup too- 'oh! that's it!' I thought, my eye skipping down to it before I read that, you know, you said so in smaller type. XD;
