Well it was something I was supposed to be taking part with on Facebook but with grandma dying and being buried this weekend, I did rather miss that. However, I didn't miss doing some of what I wanted to do to put a little kindness back into the world.

I didn't expect to clean a church for a wedding for people I don't know. All I really wanted was to pick up the flowers from Grandma's funeral and we saw the altar was a mess (and for some reason the priest didn't call in the cleaners) so we did it for them. No one should have to have a wedding with a dirty church.

However, the BIG thing I want to do for this pay it forward weekend is more of a pay it forward all year. I want to write a story for charity again. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I know I want the charity to be Wounded Warriors because that is very important to me. I was thinking of several things for this.

1. Maybe talk to DSP and have all sales of my novel Kept Tears on Veteran's Day go to the charity.

2. If I ever get a sequel to that one done, arrange for a portion of all royalties to go to them.

3. I considered writing a short story (or more likely a novella) and self-publishing it with most of the royalties going to the Wounded Warriors. I'm not sure what to write yet. I figured it would need to be a new character or maybe even the threesome from my Love's Landscape story. That was very well received. It's easy to research since I set it here where I live. Maybe something totally new. I wish I had been smarter about the last charity story I wrote. It's technically YA but I published it under Jana's name. I really don't want to write LGBT YA stories under my erotica name. I would love to revisit the characters in that story but well, you can see my conundrum. However, if anyone knows another charity anthology, let me know.

Another thing I want to do to pay it forward is to make my blog available to people to do promotion on. Yes, the readership is small but I do my best to make sure it gets out there (facebook, twitter, etc) I need to figure out how to make one of those google docs that allows people to sign up.

Hopefully if everyone just does a little 2015 will be a better year.

I think that's a wonderful idea, giving most of the royalties to the wounded warrior project!

Thank you. I got the idea from Kim Fielding who does a charity a story (at least the last couple years) for Doctors without Borders, another of my favorite charities.

Thanks. I think so. I see too many authors berating people who do freebie fiction or things that don't give them pay and I'm like, what does one freebie hurt?

You're welcoem! I do too! :D

Yeah? That's like free advertizing for their work. I bet a freebie here & there get peeps to buy their work, plus why not give something back to their fans?

That's how I see it. I plan on doing that freebie event on Goodreads again this year too.

I might even put in a prompt to have people write for me!

It was but not without its problems (not for me but several people had a rough time)

yeah well some of them made their own problems, some are drama queens and others truly did get trouble they didn't ask for. Early on there were a pack of trolls just trashing everything INCLUDING stories written for them.

*nods* Those trolls are so not cool. Seriously, they need a life.
