I met pickamix through gsd_rtfn and Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom. She passed away from a chronic and terrible illness last night. I am very sorry to see her gone. She was very supportive of my writing.

However, what I didn't know was that while she had bought Kept Tears, my urban fantasy novel, she had been too ill to read it. Her friend and neighbor took time from her grieving to let me know that she had read it to pickamix and they had finished it last night. It hurt her too much to say more than they loved it.

I'm touched beyond words to have her take the time in her dark time to tell me that.

I am grateful and I am sad.

You're right. So heart-warming to take the time to console you with that knowledge while she's grieving so hard herself. You are blessed to be surrounded by good people. May they help you ease your own grief in this sad time. <<>>
