I didn't put up what's new on Wednesday since I was flailing about trying to finish off my Love's Landscape story since it was the nth hour and I was still trying to edit it so not to look completely embarrassing in front of their editors. I'm very happy though with how it came out. Is hopeful the editor(s) will help me bring out the best of it and thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog & [livejournal.com profile] drummerdancer for their betas.

So we've gotten the go ahead to talk about them a little now.

I've shared this before. Here's my picture prompt photo dontreadinthecloset_zps90ff2dae.jpg

I had a blast writing this. This was probably one of the easiest stories I've ever penned especially considering I lost an entire month working on other writing projects that will be published in a few weeks. I wrote almost all of it in April and it's over 38K. As of right now, there is no cover but I can tell you a little bit about the story.

I named it Triseklion and set it where I currently live: South East Ohio, in the Appalachians. Almost every single place in the story are places I like and hang out in (though I don't exactly live in Athens, OH, where most of this takes place). I pressed the Ridges, the old Athens Lunatic Asylum, into service as the homebase for the Lucerna, a monster fighting organization that's been around for centuries. Mages, werewolves, vampires and other supernaturals band together with humans to keep the world safe. This branch is being run by Dr. Faolan Fraser (and his feisty granny) who is a Druid and mage. Most of the story is from his point of view.

The story opens with Faolan already in a relationship with Jason, a vampire so old he was in the Olympics back around 300 B.C. Together, they meet up with the local alpha wolf's twin brother, Derrek, fresh back from a tour of duty in the Middle East. While Faolan was originally from Ireland (via New York) and Jason is Greek, Derrek is homegrown Appalachian. There are even a few Hatfields in his pack (no lie, I've had several Hatfields as students and one of my deans was one as well). As the demons begin to pull Athens apart and destroying everything Faolan loves, Druid, vampire and werewolf have to band together to stop the Dark Summer.

And thanks again to my local writers group for allowing me to kill them off for the sake of plot.

I'm really excited about this one and I hope everyone enjoys it once it's finally out there.

It's all made possible through M/M Romance (note: you do have to be a member of this goodreads group to see anything)

Actually I had considered asking you questions about firefighting before I came to the conclusion, that magic was how I was going to have to do it, picture be damned.

Yeah, I'm sure! Those guys don't spend any time at all on a desk job.

Any time you need firefighting questions answered, I can probably help you out.
