100 Things #73- The Author Happy dance
Jan. 7th, 2014 10:12 pmIn my case it looks a lot like the hippos in Fantasia but it's being done. I have a lot of reasons to be doing it tonight. Check it out:
1. Who wouldn't do a happy dance with cover art like this. It's the rough draft. I'm very happy it and I'm surprised at how fast and easily Paul made the changes. Aaron's hair and height were wrong last night. This morning I had this. Can't wait to see the final product!

I'll be back soon with more about this novel.
2. I'm sending in my first, potentially only, contemporary short story in to DSP's open call Not Shakespeare. Standing Among the Stones is two young men's trip among the standing stones and dolmens of Wales. As always I'm a little unsure of the story, especially since it's contemporary fiction. That's not my thing to read or write but I was trying to keep it short and to not seem like I have too much story for a short which is what I often hear when I write them (and I accept that criticism since it's not wrong). Wish me luck.
3. I also finished my story for Project Fierce. Granted I haven't had time to check on this in months so I'm not even sure on the status of this project. Even if it's a no go I DO like this story a lot and if they don't want it, I'm pretty sure I can turn this into a YA novella at the very least. It probably does feel rushes a little. Ah urban Fantasy, you ARE hard to write short stories for unless you're in an already established universe where everyone knows the rules.
Over all it's been a darned good day.
