I started this story at the beginning of the year as my way of mourning the loss of one of my heroes, Leonard Nimoy. However, it got too painful and I didn't know which way to take the story. With some time and distance and with the help of a great prompt from the annual Halloween [livejournal.com profile] spook_me challenge I found my way. I didn't find my way to a good title mind you, but I hope you'll enjoy it none the less. It is in the same universe as my m/m/m story for the Love's Landscape challenge in 2014. You can find it here (note: you do have to be a member of the group to see this story but otherwise it's free. I hope to have it up on my new website shortly!) Triskelion It's set in Athens, OH, which is roughly my home turf these days. I hope you enjoy it!

Summary - As Faolan mourns the loss of his hero, Derrek and Jason try to cheer him up. Surely nothing could go wrong with a lonely cabin in the woods.

Author's Note: This also fulfills a prompt from the allbingo challenge on dreamwidth for 'alone in the woods.' Also, it's not really the universe I signed up to write but this one screamed louder so it won.

It was a zero writing week. I spent most of it editing so I guess in a way that is writing. My story Coulrophobia will be on Dreamspinner Press's blog on the 29th and I just posted a free Halloween story tonight as well, Cabin in the Woods. Enjoy both freebies!

As I suspected Cassadaga Nights did not get picked up for Simmer. Unsurprising since it was cut in half to even attempt to make word count. I'm not sad about it. I am looking for a few beta readers for it right now so I can send it out as a novella. I'm thinking Wayward Ink or maybe one or two others to start with. I think it will get picked up and I might ask if they would be willing to include those recipes anyhow. I'm not really disappointed in any way about this. I was pretty sure it would happen.

Other than that it's been a grueling, depressing week before funeral memorials, bad crap at work (both writing and at the EDJ) and lastly I missed out on hearing Neil Gaiman after being forgotten by the group I was going with. I'm trying to be 'over' that so that's all I want to say there.

I'm trying to get one more chapter done of Blood Red before I move on to my nano novel. Wish me luck.
