jana_denardo: (kept tears)
I'm back in Ohio after five weeks away and as much as I'd like to say it's a good thing, it's probably just meh. I thought all I'd have to report on Soldiers of the Sun was that I'm still in a holding pattern waiting cover art designs but that's not true. Yes, I'm still waiting on cover art but I did find that the proofreaders found a few hiccups in the text. It makes me want to bang my head. It's not like I jam my first draft into the mail and even if I did it still goes through three edits. I always wonder how these things were hidden from my eyes, my first readers and at least two or three editors. Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful that SOMEONE caught it, regardless of what stage it was in. However, it does make me feel awesome in my ability to write weirdness that remains invisible. As long as it's fixed before some sharp eyed reader caught it....

I'm half done with my Woke up in Vegas married story. It's a lot of geeky fun for me. The best description I could give is imagine if Raj and Howard got married and Sheldon officiated in Klingon and you'd get the idea. Robert and Chandra are sweet geeks and I'm having fun with them.

On the drive home I DID get an idea for Dreamspinner's open call, 'Simmer.' I might noodle around with it.

Also I came up with an idea for the sequel to oldiers of the Sun so there's that. Actually that's a bigger deal than I'm making it sound like. For months all i had was an opening scene and no plot.

What I haven't been doing is using Camp Nano to work on Vampires in Vegas like I'm supposed to. Sigh.
