It's been a while since I've put any real content here other than the What's Up Wednesday stuff. I should fix that up. I of course choose the day I earned a wound from making my steampunk hat.

Seeing [livejournal.com profile] chrissymunder's plan for the end of the year, I thought 'hey, that's a good idea.' It would be helpful so here we go.

1. The biggest thing is for me to finish and send in Soldiers of the Sun nearly a full year after my goal. Ifins this unacceptable and embarrassing but there is no way to turn back time. I have to accept my miserable failing on this account. And when I really started ripping into draft two, it became obvious that it was a nano novel with severe issues. I realized there is far more sex than I'm comfortable with. It's slowing down the plot, so I'm busy working on figuring out what to keep and what can be cut. The villains need more punch up and my beta readers have given me a plan. New goal is to get this out before October.

2. Blood Red Roulette, my vampires in Vegas. I had planned to finish this during my trip last year but I had all the editing to do for my novel Kept Tears so it was sidelined. It's been sidelined forever. I mean this started life as a non-LGBT story (Okay Arrigo has always been bi but back then gay stories were a MUCH harder sale) since the early 1990s. It just keeps getting sidelined. It's at novella length but I would really want to see this go as a novel. It's a matter of deciding what happens now. originally the villain, Eleni escaped but I never did write what happens then. I think in the grand scheme of things, she needs to be dealt with in this story. I would like to get this done soon because a short story with them will be coming to the end of its contract. It might be nice to still have that up when this gets out there (see how hopeful I am DSP will buy it too).

3. Decide on my nano project for this year. I like both ideas I have. One is one I've noodled with for a while, my SF story with the file name Behind Blue Eyes which I think might be an easy write. The other is a sequel to Kept Tears. several people asked for it and I've started bits of it but all I have in my head are scenes. I need to think of a plot. I did ask some first readers what they might want to see and then lost that though several suggestions were not places I really wanted to take this series. Several wanted the twins to have a plot line but I'm not sure they're gay (well dad is bi and they probably could be too) and I'm not sure what the reaction would be if it were anything else. I wish I had a strong plot because I would love to give Aaron and Rhys a sequel but it wouldn't be romance. It would be strictly paranormal (with a touch of lovey dovey with those two).

4. Remain hopeful a short story or two will be picked up.

5. Maybe outline two other stories I have in my head so I don't forget where I'd like it to go. One is another paranormal set in Pittsburgh and the other is pure fantasy.
