27. Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters.

They do play a big role. I often keep sheets on what they all look like, scars, tatts eye color etc. Often I do use celebrities or other images (graphic novels) to help me pick what some of them look like. Others are plucked straight from my imagination.

Hikaru in Riding with Strangers owes his looks to Hyde, a Japanese singer while his partner Liam is all my imagination

In the newest one I'm working on Maeldun (Sion in this story) is an elf Ive been writing about for year but he's cosplaying someone who looks suspiciously close to Edward Elric of FUllmetal Alchemist
