hmmm oversight on my part
Jun. 13th, 2010 03:30 pmI originally said no more open calls. Concentrate on your novel. That worked until I saw one from
circletpress. That's a much shorter word count than say DSP's average or Samhain's so I didn't think much of it.
But now in hind sigh I realize I should have tried for DSP's 'making contact.' The last two anthologies I've rather stuck out like a sore thumb as being one of the only non-contemporary story in the bunch. You'd think I would have jumped at a SF anthology. Foolish me.
12. In what story did you feel you did the best job of worldbuilding? Any side-notes on it you'd like to share?
Probably in Riding with Strangers. Because it's set in Orlando at my alma mater. There really isn't much world building to do other than how dragons and their culture work. haha go me with being lazy.
I could have done better with Snowbound and hopefully will as I work on a novel with these characters. Alternative history and historical research, this one if a lot of work. I have a few hiccups that were too hard to address in the confines of a short story. Hopefully it'll work better as I expand that world.
